Made in Rwanda Products Showcased during the 4th China International Import Expo

From 05 to 10 November 2021, Rwanda participated in the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.

The China International Import Expo, is the world's biggest import-oriented event, which has become a major platform for international procurement, investment promotion, and cultural exchange.

During this year’s expo, Made in Rwanda products including coffee, chilli, tea, avocado oil and handcrafts were being showcased and sold to Chinese consumers.
In addition to the offline expo, Rwanda had an online country pavilion promoting the country’s image and organized a live streaming event where thousands of bags of coffee were sold out in a matter of seconds.

Speaking to the media, the Rwandan Ambassador to China H.E. James Kimonyo said that CIIE is a very good platform which serves to not only promote Made in Rwanda products, but also promote investment, tourism and the country’s image in general. He commended the Government of the People’s Republic of China for honoring its words with actions by implementing measures announced during the 3rd CIIE, further opening up the Chinese market to Rwanda and the whole world.

The Ambassador added that Rwanda looks forward to increased cooperation with China in various sectors including trade and investment, further strengthening the existing excellent relations between the two countries, which were established 50 years ago.
