Rwanda Eyes Increased Exports to China

From 21 to 23 July 2021, the Embassy of Rwanda to China participated in a series of promotion events which took place in Changsha including the 2nd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo Promotion Conference for Buyers and Visitors, the China (Hunan)-African Countries Promotion Conference and the Hunan-Africa Coffee Tasting & Promotion Conference.
The events aimed to further promote economic cooperation between African countries and China through two-way trade and investment.

Speaking during those events, the Embassy’s Commercial Counselor Mr. Samuel Abikunda said that Rwanda and China enjoy decades of warm and friendly relationship reflected in many areas of cooperation including investment, education, tourism and trade.

He added that Rwanda looks forward to participating in the 2nd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo following the successful participation in the inaugural event which took place in Changsha 2019.

“Through this expo, buyers and consumers will be able to learn more and buy some of Rwanda’s excellent products including coffee, tea, chili, avocado oil and handcrafts,” Abikunda said.

In addition to the promotion events, the delegation of African Embassies which included representatives from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda also visited Changsha High-Tech Zone International Science and Technology Business Platform and Changsha High-Tech Zone Import and Export Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center.
