The Embassy Promotes Investment, Trade and Tourism During Business Roundtable and Livestream
From 10th to 11th September 2026, the Embassy advanced its economic and commercial outreach through a business roundtable with Shanghai-based Chinese enterprises and a special livestream event showcasing Made-in-Rwanda products, tourism and culture to Chinese consumers.
On 10th September, the Embassy convened a roundtable with Shanghai-based Chinese enterprises operating across a range of sectors, including electric vehicles, electronics, energy, artificial intelligence, real estate and financial services, among others. Addressing the participating companies, Ambassador Emmanuel Karenzi Karake invited them to explore investment opportunities in Rwanda and benefit from the country’s conducive business environment, strategic location and access to wider regional and continental markets. Discussions also explored opportunities for follow-up engagements, with plans for strategic partnerships and visits to Rwanda underway.
On 11 September, the Embassy further expanded its outreach to Chinese consumers through a special livestream hosted by Li Jiaqi, one of China’s prominent e-commerce livestreamers and digital media influencers. Ambassador Emmanuel Karenzi Karake joined the livestream, highlighting Rwanda’s business and investment environment and presenting the country’s products and tourism attractions to millions of Chinese viewers.
The livestream featured Made-in-Rwanda products, notably coffee and chili, were showcased and sold directly to Chinese consumers, further enhancing the visibility of Rwandan products in the Chinese market and cultural performance by Ishyo, a Rwandan cultural troupe based in China, offering viewers a glimpse of Rwanda’s vibrant culture.
