Embassy of Rwanda in Beijing Hosts the Police Senior Command College Delegation to a Reception
On the evening of 23 April 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to the People’s Republic of China hosted the Police Senior Command College Delegation to a reception.
Thirty Police students from nine African countries attending the 'Police Senior Command and Staff' Course at the National Police College (NPC) are in the People’s Republic of China from 20 April on International Study Tour. The student and staff delegation is led by the National Police College Commandant, CP Christopher Bizimungu.
Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Charles Kayonga observed that learning from such tours is good but should always be followed up with practical application in the context of our own situations back home.
Ambassador Kayonga further said that, China-Africa Cooperation provides a rare opportunity for our own countries sustainable transformation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, CP Christopher Bizimungu, said that conducting the study tour in China is a privilege, "we intend to use productively and have no doubt that the tour will contribute much to our study mission."
The course tour is among others aimed at “linking theories to realities on ground,” CP Bizimungu added.
The delegation in China, members of the 7th Police Senior Command and Staff Course is composed of thirty Police students and training staff from Sudan, Namibia, Nigeria, Liberia, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Central African Republic (CAR) and Rwanda.
The Police Senior Command and Staff Course is a one-year course at the Rwanda National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District. The course aims at imparting to participants knowledge and skills in relation to strategic command, professional policing and executive leadership.
