Embassy of Rwanda in Beijing Hosts the Rwanda Defense Force CSC to a Reception
On the evening of 3 April 2019, Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to the People’s Republic of China hosted the Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College students to a reception.
Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDF CSC) students are in the People’s Republic of China from 29 March on International Study Tour under the tour theme, "Enhancing National Resilience through Security Sector Transformation and Economic Development”.
Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Charles Kayonga lauded China as an excellent case study for the theme given its consistent rise since 1949.
“With regard to the subject of your study tour, you have come to the right place. China is an excellent example of enhanced national resilience,” Ambassador Kayonga said.
He spoke of leadership as the common denominator between China and African countries on the rise like Rwanda. He cited a political system focusing on uniting people and inclusive development as a prerequisite for national resilience. The Ambassador added that China would not be where it is today, without its ancient culture characterized by the pride and patriotism of its people as well as their resilience, excellence and hard work. There is no concept of the “Impossible” in the Chinese culture and this has been a constant.
Maj Gen Jean Bosco Kazura, the college Commandant and delegation leader appreciated the opportunity to visit China. “It is our great honor to visit China, during this time of our study tour, we have seen a developed country in terms of social economic, defense and security environment, this tour will indeed contribute to our student expectations and skills.”
The Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDF CSC) students are visiting China for the second time. The first time was in 2017. The College delegation included Faculty Staff and Student Officers from Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
