Juvenile Reporters College Students Visit Rwanda Embassy
On Wednesday, 24 July 2019, Juvenile Reporters College Students from Renmin University of China visited Rwanda Embassy in Beijing. The objective of the visit was to learn more about Rwanda’s history and culture exchange among other things.
Juvenile Reporters College was jointly founded by Renmin University of China and China Youth Newspaper.
According to the Ms. Shen Yang, the Associate Dean from Junior Journalism College, the event is part of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture policy on promoting the study and travel of primary and secondary school students, for cultural exchanges at home and abroad.
During the visit to the Embassy, Mr. Virgile Rwanyagatare, the Embassy Second Counselor described to the young students the history and the geographical characteristics of Rwanda. His briefing was accompanied by videos and pictures that showed the magnificent scenery of mountains, which makes Rwanda known as the “Land of thousand hills”.
While describing to the Juvenile reporter students, the Embassy diplomat said that, “Rwanda is beautiful country and has many different attractions that many people around the world including Chinese like to visit.”
The Juvenile reporter students were given opportunity to interact with embassy diplomats through asking different questions about history and cultural activities. Ambassador Kayonga, who is concluding his tour of duty in China, attended the questions and answers session.
Ms. Shen Yang, thanked embassy for the warm welcome and the opportunity for reporter students to learn about Rwanda.
