Rwanda Aims To Deepen Cooperation with Hunan Province
On 23rd October 2021, the Embassy of Rwanda in China received a delegation from Hunan province led by Mr. Chen Xianchun, the Deputy Secretary General of the People’s Government of Hunan Province and had a meeting which focused on strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and Hunan Province.
The Ambassador of Rwanda to China, James Kimonyo congratulated the People's Government of Hunan Province on the successful organization of the Second China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), where Rwanda was invited as one of the Guest Countries of Honor.
He added that Rwanda looks forward to deepening cooperation with Hunan Province in various sectors including investment, industrial parks development, agriculture and agro-processing, science, technology, and human capital development among others.
Mr. Chen Xianchun, the Deputy Secretary General of the People’s Government of Hunan Province who led the delegation thanked the Embassy of Rwanda for the support shown towards various events organized during the Second CAETE.
He reiterated the commitment of Hunan Province to strengthen cooperation with African countries and Rwanda in particular through the Pilot Zone for In-Depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation, which will help to a foundation to establish long-term mechanics to boost economic and trade cooperation.
He added that Hunan companies will increase trade and processing of Rwandan non-resource products like chili and invest in Rwanda in order to increase production capacity.
