Rwanda Envoy to China Calls Chinese Investors to Invest in Rwanda

Ambassador of Rwanda to China, Ambassador James Kimonyo called Chinese investors to invest in Rwanda at CCTV Business Channel Banquet with Ambassadors and CEOs.

The Banquet is a major part of the CCTV Financial Forum, held by CCTV Business Channel of China Media Group, 2019 Banquet held on 12 December.

Speaking on a panel discussion themed ‘Digital Economy: Expanding the New Frontiers of Cooperation’, Ambassador said that the Government of Rwanda is investing heavily in the development of Digital Economy, adopting e-Commerce as the  new  way of doing  business.

Kimonyo said that after Rwanda signed bilateral agreements with China on cooperation in e-commerce when the President Xi Jinping visited Rwanda last year in July, Rwanda entered into partnership with Alibaba Group. Through eWTP, Rwandan products like coffee are being sold on Chinese e-Commerce platforms, the Ambassador said, adding that Rwanda appreciates the good cooperation with China.

Since 2010, the CCTV Business Channel has been held eight times inviting government officials, business leaders and distinguished scholars to carry out in-depth discussions on major economic events.
