Rwanda Firms Eye Business Opportunities in Chinese Market

Rwanda along with other African countries is participating at the First China Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha, under the theme of ‘Win-Win Cooperation for Closer China-Africa Economic and Trade Partnership’.

Attracting thousands of participants, Chinese and African dignitaries, diplomats, governors and representatives of international organizations, the Expo is one of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) follow up actions.

Hailing the long-term friendship with Africa, Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Qian Keming said at the opening ceremony that, the bilateral trade and economic cooperation should be practical and concrete to meet the development needs of African countries in different areas like infrastructure construction and talent cultivation.

Rwandan companies are showcasing different products at the expo as part of the effort by Rwandan firms to explore the Chinese market and deepen partnerships.

According to Ambassador Charles Kayonga, the expo taking place in Hunan, is a great symbol of China-Africa Cooperation adding that expo is another opportunity for Rwandan firms to market and sell their products on Chinese market.

The Ambassador added that, under the framework of China – Africa cooperation, expo will lift the China Africa economic cooperation to new level.

Conferences, seminars, forums and exhibitions focusing on agriculture, trade, investment and infrastructure construction will be held during the three-day expo, with experts sharing views on closer bilateral exchanges.
