Rwandan Community in Beijing Bid Farewell to Ambassador Charles Kayonga
On 17 August 2019, Rwanda community in Beijing bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of Rwanda to China, H.E Charles Kayonga.
Ambassador Kayonga has been the Ambassador of Rwanda to the People’s Republic of China from July 2014 to July 2019.
In his remarks, Ambassador Kayonga thanked H.E President Paul Kagame for entrusting him with the responsibility to serve as the Ambassador of Rwanda to China for the last five years. He further expressed his appreciation to the Rwandan community in China for their gratitude, participation, and contribution to the embassy activities during his tenure as Ambassador.
On behalf of Rwanda community in Beijing, Zimurinda Victorien expressed the community’s appreciation for Ambassador Kayonga for his active role and contributions with in the structures of the embassy and Rwandan community in China.
“We have seen many developments during Ambassador Kayonga’s term in China as the Ambassador such as the Head of State’s mutual visits, RwandAir launch to Guangzhou and VisitRwanda among others,” Zimurinda said. He added that, the number of scholarship students have also increased on positive basis since 2015 academic year.
The outgoing envoy told the audience, the majority of whom were students to maintain the momentum of hard work, discipline and to move away from any distractions that might lead them to failure, reminding them that they are the strength of their country and also the hope of their families.
