Rwandan Community in China Celebrated National Heroes Day
Rwandan community met at the Embassy of Rwanda in Beijing and celebrated the National Heroes Day.
“We celebrate the Heroes Day to honor and pay tribute to our Heroes and the sacrifice they made, also as a way to raise tomorrow's heroes” said Ambassador Kayonga while officiating the event.
He described sacrifice as forfeiting short term personal benefit, pleasure or comfort for long term collective benefit. The Ambassador added that sacrifice was the supreme value that characterized Rwandan heroes past and present. He encouraged the youthful audience most of whom are students to learn to sacrifice in their everyday lives.
This year theme was “Uphold Heroism to Build the Rwanda we Want”.
