Rwandan Products Received Positive Reviews at the China International Food & Catering Expo
From 19th to 22nd September, the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in China together with Rwandan companies participated in the China International Food & Catering Expo (CIFCE) held in Changsha City, Hunan Province, Central China.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People‘s Republic of China, CIFCE has become the docking platform for the whole industry chain of the food industry, and has promoted the efficient exhibition platform for corporate brand promotion and channel construction of the food industry field.
At the exhibition, Rwandan products received positive reviews from Chinese consumers. Rwandan specialty coffee beans were only selected during China Barista Team Championship. The winners of the championship together with some Chinese coffee experts, buyers and members of China Coffee Industry Alliance will visit Rwanda to discuss more partnership cooperation with coffee experts in Rwanda.
Mr. Liu De Chen, Director in Charge of promotion and circulation industry at the Ministry of Commerce of China said that Coffee carries accelerated integration of China and the rest of the world cultures and hope of building a community of human destiny indeed coffee market in china has a great potential. Adding that, Rwandan coffee producers and suppliers should consider their expansion in China market.
Speaking to the media, the Embassy Chargé d'affaire, Mr. Virgile Rwanyagatare, said that Rwanda has many good quality agricultural products to supply to the Chinese market. He added that the expo was a very good platform for exchanges and invited Chinese companies to forge win-win partnerships with Rwandan companies further strengthening the already existing good cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Remy Muhirwa from ENAS, the Rwandan based agricultural service company, which supplied the high quality coffee used during the barista championship said that the event was a success and that it had opened many doors for his company's coffee export business.
Ms. Jenny Tong who chaired the team of judges of the competition said that, they were very much impressed by the taste of Rwandan coffee. "All the experts who tasted Rwandan coffee have found it to be of very high quality. This is exactly what Chinese coffee lovers are looking for; I believe Rwandan coffee will soon be sold in the Chinese market". Ms. Jenny said
