Rwandans in China Mark 27th Anniversary of the Liberation
On 4th July 2021, Rwandan Community in China through WebEx joined the rest of the world to celebrate the 27th Anniversary of the liberation.
Speaking during the event, the Ambassador called on Rwandans to uphold the values of patriotism and selflessness that defined those who fully liberated the country and made it a home to everyone against the creed of history.
“I urge you to honor the sacrifices of RPA heroes by preserving the achievements and working hard to sustain the transformation journey and build the Rwanda, we want,” he said.
On his side Lt Col (Rtd) Ndore Rurinda, the guest speaker reminded the youth that given the complexity of contemporary challenges, they should be prepared to make sacrifices of the highest order to sustain Rwanda's journey towards prosperity.
His discussion with the audience centered on the role of patriotism in Rwanda's liberation struggle, the role of youth and continued engagement in socio-economic development and Rwanda's resurrection from the dark past.
He spoke of the leadership as the main factor that helped the then RPA Inkotanyi to liberate the country and reminded the young audience to follow in the footsteps.
“Rwanda’s liberation and achievements that came with it places a big responsibility on the youth,” Rurinda told the audience, adding that they should always be proud of the Rwandan cultural values, which he said that are very critical in building a national identity among the next generation of leaders.
Mr. Mulinga Narcisse, the Chairperson of the Rwandan Community in China, praised the sacrifice, integrity and discipline of the RPA Inkotanyi. “Looking back where our country came from, it is our responsibility to sustain what has been achieved and contribute more towards better future of our country,” Mulinga said.
