The Embassy and Shanghai Wicresoft Co., Ltd Held Discussions

On 15th December 2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the People’s Republic of China, H.E James Kimonyo visited Shanghai Wicresoft Co., Ltd and had friendly exchanges with Mr. Tang, the chairman of the Board of Directors on the cooperation between the Embassy and Shanghai Wicresoft. 

Wicresoft introduced to the Ambassador the company development history of nearly 20 years and the global business map under the internationalization strategy of "GO BIG GO BEYOND". Adhering to the high standard of service quality and the service concept of  "customer achievement", Wicresoft has established more than 20 centers around the world and reached long-term, stable and friendly cooperation with more than 2500 enterprises and government customers.

The company attaches great importance to the talent strategy. It has been the best employer for many years and attracts excellent talents from all over the world. Currently, it has more than 10,000 employees from 73 countries including China, the United States, Russia, Germany and Bangladesh, among which there are 22 employees from Rwanda.

Ambassador Kimonyo thanked Mr. Tang for the invitation, applauded the rapid development of the Wicresoft global business and diversified corporate culture. 

He explained to the Chairman, the investment opportunities and incentives in Information Technologies in Rwanda and invited the company to invest in Rwanda.  

Rwanda is a modern country with a fast growing economy, ranked number one in East Africa, number two in Africa and thirty-eighth globally according to the World Bank Doing Business Report of 2020. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Rwanda and China and the relations between the two countries have entered into the best stage of development in history. 

“In line with Rwanda’s vision 2050 framework, the government of Rwanda has set a roadmap of becoming a global competitive knowledge-based economy. Building on the existing cooperation, Rwanda is benefiting from China’s enormous experience in Technology through different programs including, workshops and studies,” the envoy noted 

The Chairman promised continuous collaboration between Wicrecend and the Embassy to also start looking for opportunity that can lead to future investment.

On the same day, the Ambassador held a meeting with the Rwandan employees at the company and encouraged them to deeply immerse themselves in Chinese culture, master cutting-edge knowledge of the Internet and digital economy, and apply these experiences to the construction of Rwanda.

The Embassy attaches great importance to the well-being of Rwandans and will always collaborate with different institutions to facilitate the development of Rwandans in China.
