The Embassy Participated in the Second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference
From 14th to 16th October 2021, the Embassy of Rwanda in China participated in the Second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference hosted by the Government of China under the theme “Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Development” in Beijing.
Chinese President, His Excellency Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech via video link at the opening ceremony alongside with the United Nations Secretary General, His Excellency António Guterres.
Hon. Claver Gatete, Rwanda's Minister of Infrastructure also delivered a speech through video link.
The conference underscored the importance of sustainable transport to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The event was attended by representatives from 171 countries through online and offline.
