You should emulate hard working spirit from Chinese people – Minister Nsengimana
On 27th August, Rwandan community in Beijing celebrated the National Harvest Day (Umuganura), a Rwandan historical traditional event. Celebrating National harvest day (Umuganura) in diaspora is opportunity to discuss ways of achieving more and giving support to develop our home country.
The Youth & ICT Minister, Hon. Jean Philbert Nsengimana, joined the community and encourages them to learn from China: “You have a great opportunity, you should rely about and come up with your own ideas and innovations for your better future and better of your country”, Minister Nsengimana told the community. China is one of the developed countries in the world from its hardworking strategy of which you should emulate and be your behavior for your future. National harvest day should be a day of setting up new strategies for better harvest and success in next term, Minister added.
In his remarks, the Charge d’affaires at Rwanda Embassy in Beijing, Mr. Virgile Rwanyagatare, explained that Umuganura festival has changed its meaning to Rwandans as they no longer see it in the sense of agricultural based harvest rather a National harvest of celebrating national achievements, sharing harvest and supporting others (Unity). He told the community that Umuganura in its essence of Unity and brotherhood, it is the pillar of self-reliance, national dignity and ways of safeguarding Rwandan culture heritage.
