You should work hard for your future and your country’s vision – Ambassador Kayonga
On 30th December 2017, Rwandans living in Beijing and nearby cities met at embassy of Rwanda to celebrate the end of year and to welcome the New Year 2018. The event was hosted by the Rwanda Embassy in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. Diaspora members mainly made up of students from various universities in and around Beijing attended the event.
In his remarks, Ambassador Charles Kayonga reminded the audience the role and responsibility of the youth in their country’s development. He urged the students to empower themselves through hard work at their studies and striving to develop a disciplined character. As the country progresses on the journey to develop knowledge based economy, it will rely more on the youth that have had opportunity to access good education both in the country and abroad.
The Ambassador also briefed the attendants on the discussions that took place during the National dialogue (Umushyikirano) particularly with regard to developing and living values (Indangagaciro). He stressed the importance of unity and self-improvement through learning and the attitude to accept correction when wrong as well the courage to correct those who are in the wrong.
